Course Description: Create a customized dashboard that connects administrators, teachers, students, and parents. Discover how others are connecting their K-12 communities with a common set of collaboration tools, development skills and re-useable components that everyone can share! This discussion will provide an overview of Microsoft’s Web-based integration framework which delivers a communication-rich content delivery model tailored for the education system. The target audience for this hands-on lab is IT Professionals that want an overview of what Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 is, and how to deploy it. The primary audience for this hands-on lab is the IT Professional who generally works with both Windows and Office technologies.

Computers and Network Electronic Purchase Program

REMC will be releasing an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for its Computers and Network Electronics Purchase Program mid-February. The program will include contracts for computer systems, network eletronics, data management furniture, centralized device management tools, power backup and management system solutions and storage systems. Vendor applications are now being accepted from Enterprise Tiered companies until February 1, 2008. It is estimated that the contract period will run 36-months beginning July 1, 2008.

Mark your calendars for the REMC Regional Technology Showcase at the Genesee Intermediate School District on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.

This showcase is your opportunity to see products available on the REMC Bid, meet and talk with representative vendors and REMC staff. The event is hosted by the REMC Statewide $AVE Bid Project, in partnership with REMC 14 and the Genesee ISD.

Effective January 1st, the REMC Statewide $AVE Bid Project will be releasing new pricing in multiple categories including Xerographic Paper, Supplies (Art, A/V, Instructional, Library, Office), Equipment, and Software. REMC Face Off 2007 – Updated

Document Cameras have been added to the Face Off! The REMC Face Off 2007 will be held Monday, November 12, 2007, at the Lansing Center. All Michigan educators are invited to evaluate the document cameras and multimedia projectors that were bid for 2008. Participants’ evaluations will be used to determine which products are awarded for the 2008 REMC $AVE bid. Lunch will be provided.
